I have the renewal notification set to remind 1 day before.. The system sends like several emails that day even past midnight. I can't find an option that says how many to send per day, just how many days before to send. It seems to only send one email for expired ad notification. But, since I just activated it.. I can't say for sure since there has only been one ad that expired.

How can I fix this? Thanks

Hi there,

Thank you for contacting us regarding this issue. I'm happy to help here.

We are happy to help troubleshoot this issue with you. Can you tell me a bit more?
- What version of WP are you running here?
- What exact version of AWPCP?  (number, please)
- What exact version of any other AWPCP Modules? (number, please)

Are the emails going to live customers or to test accounts? If test accounts, do they use the same email address as your admin account? You could be getting multiple emails that way.

Please let me know.

Hi C denham,

Thanks for that information.

It looks like you aren't running the latest version of AWPCP. You should have 3.8.2 installed. Please try that and see if the issue resolves itself.

If not, let's verify some things about your server, because in our experience, email problems stem from the server configuration more than anything.

Here's an article about email delivery that you should try, including a plugin to install to track the outgoing email to confirm that it's being sent: http://docs.businessdirectoryp.....blems.html

Once you confirm that, it means that the email is either failing to be delivered by the server or something outside of the plugin. We use the standard mechanism for email sending through WP, but once it's sent, it's outside of our control.

A conflict test may also be in order here. Here is an article about how to test for theme and plugin conflicts with AWPCP, which may help pinpoint the issue: http://awpcp.com/forum/faq/how.....conflicts/

Try that and report back on what you find.

I'm having the same issue. I know this was a year ago, but wondering how it was resolved. Thanks!

Hi Clay,

Sorry that you ran into issues with this! It's hard to say since the original poster didn't respond here and I don't have a way of knowing what happened with the issue.

However, we are happy to help troubleshoot this issue with you. Can you tell me a bit more?
- What version of WP are you running here?
- What exact version of AWPCP?  (number, please)
- What exact version of any other AWPCP Modules? (number, please)
- Can you please send a link to the affected site?

We should also do a check for theme and plugin conflicts. Theme and plugin conflicts are very common in WordPress, and a conflict test is used to help determine the cause of the issue. Please conduct the test and let me know the results. Here is an article about how to test for theme and plugin conflicts with AWPCP, which may help pinpoint the issue: http://awpcp.com/forum/faq/how.....conflicts/

That will help us troubleshoot the issue a little faster. Please let me know.

WP 5.1.1

AWPCP 3.9.5

Buddypress module 3.6.10

site URL is https://windstoneeditions.com/classified-ads/

The plugin is set to notify users of upcoming expirations 3 days in advance. It starts then, but resends the emails every hour. Unfortunately, I've had to disable automatic "renew the ad" notifications because I can't have my users bombarded with emails (some of them have 12 or 15 ads, so it gets out of hand fast). So I think I will have to make a copy of the site on our staging server, delete all of the actual ads, and then create some new ones using my own email address so that I can test for conflicts, etc.

In the meantime, how can I handle renewals? Is there any way for users to renew ads without getting the "renew your ad" email? Or will I have to renew them from the back end? Is there a link to renew in the "ad expired" email?

Thanks for your help!

Hi Clay,

Thanks for getting back to me. Did you try the plugin referenced above in this comment:

For email issues with the plugin, it's usually best to verify some things about your server, because in our experience, email problems stem from the server configuration more than anything.

Right now, we don't have a way to send renewal reminders manually. Please try that plugin and report back on what you find.
