I’m setting up a classifieds section that allows users to list garage sales.  There are no categories. These aren’t individual items for sale, so i don’t need a “Price” field.

How do i get rid of the Price field?

How do i get rid of or set a default Category that is always selected? Having to choose from only one category will confuse users.

Thank you

Hi Bearcat M. Şándor,

Thank you for contacting us regarding this issue. I’m happy to help here.

You can turn off the price field under the Form Fields tab (Classifieds > Settings, Form)

For the category issue, that is something that cannot be removed in the plugin, as a category is required for the listings. We also currently don’t support having a default category selected. That’s something we can consider for future development, but not something the plugin allows for today. Perhaps you could consider adding some other categories to your site, like Estate Sales, Multi-Family Sales, etc.

From what you have described here, it sounds like you aren’t wanting classifeds on your site at all, but rather a list of garage sales with the details listed. You might want to have a look at our sister plugin, Business Directory Plugin. It might work better for what you are doing here.

BD is split into two types of modules–the core plugin, available on WP.org for free, and the premium modules. The premium modules are add-ons to the free directory and require that you have the free directory installed. You can download the latest version of the BD Plugin here: https://wordpress.org/plugins/business-directory-plugin/ and check out the premium modules here: http://businessdirectoryplugin…..m-modules/

I hope that helps. If there’s something else I can help you with, please let me know.
