from my developer:

we are entering a huge amount of global data and is there anyway from the developer to either import tables from another database that would work with the plugin, or upload files that contain the data in a format, for instance CSV, that might allow us to expedite this process?

Hi Kathy,

I am asking my developer on this, and will get back to you once I know more. Thanks for your patience!

Hi Kathy,

Thanks for your patience here.

I just heard back from the developer regarding the issue you reported, and here is what he said:

Right now there is no official way to import region records, so modifying the database directly is the best alternative we have to offer if the customer has the right skill set.

The awpcp_regions table has the following columns:

region_id: The ID of the region. The value for this column is generated by MySQL when a new record is inserted.

region_type: An integer indicating the type of region this record represent. Possible value are:

1 – Continent.
2 – Country.
3 – State.
4 – City.
5 – County.
region_state: A boolean indicating whether the region is enabled (1) or disabled (0).

region_localized: A boolean used to filter region records. I recommend leaving this set to 0 for all records and avoid using the Localization feature from the admin dashboard.

region_sidelisted: A boolean indicating whether the region should be shown on the Regions Sidelist.

region_name: The name of the region.

region_parent: The ID of a region record that represents the parent of the current record.

For example, if the ID of the region USA is 13 and I want to insert the region record for Florida, I should set region_parent to 13 on the new record.

count_all: Number of listings associated with this region. This value is calculated and updated by the plugin.

count_enabled: Number of enabled listings associated with this region. This value is calculated and updated by the plugin.

I hope that helps. Please let me know if you have any other questions or issues!
