[img:1q032t9y]http://i51.tinypic.com/287ouag.jpg[/img:1q032t9y]
Here is what i see when confirm:
[img:1q032t9y]http://i55.tinypic.com/2h3rg9v.jpg[/img:1q032t9y]

And that happens will all information put in by AWPCP (including ad text)
Maybe i could change encoding only for AWPCP?

I set UTF-8 (as it is by default). It works with all CMS, but doesn’t work with your plugin. Some lithuanian characters works, but not all. If you will tell me where do you set encoding in your plugin, i could change it by myself

Hi everyone,

You should contact the user ash88 on this board. (See the members list above). He has a working translation in Russian and worked through these issues. I believe you can find more info on this post here about specific things he did to get it working: [url:17l7oc7h]http://www.awpcp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=404[/url:17l7oc7h]. He listed tips in Russian for those trying to do the same. See if this helps you.

Try changing ad_title at the same time as ad_description, per this article: [url:m5a5p3p2]http://forum.mosets.com/showthread.php?p=23354[/url:m5a5p3p2]

No [Image Can Not Be Found]
I have
#1283 – Column ‘ad_details’ cannot be part of FULLTEXT index
ALTER TABLE `wp_awpcp_ads` CHANGE `ad_title` `ad_title` VARCHAR( 255 ) CHARACTER SET utf8 COLLATE utf8_general_ci NOT NULL

But for "….CHANGE `ad_title`…." I have "Column ‘ad_details’ cannot…"

No, I was suggesting that you try to write a query that changes BOTH columns at the same time, as I believe they are part of the same fulltext index. Did you try that?

this:
[code:2lc0igqu]ALTER TABLE `wp_awpcp_ads` CHANGE `ad_title` `ad_title` VARCHAR( 255 ) CHARACTER SET utf8 COLLATE utf8_general_ci NOT NULL ,
CHANGE `ad_details` `ad_details` TEXT CHARACTER SET utf8 COLLATE utf8_general_ci NOT NULL[/code:2lc0igqu]
seems to work
thanks, awpcp

I want to convert the plugin to the russian language, but I’m having a strange problems:

1. when I renaming the fields in the settings section, the field classfields translated normally on (????? ??????????), but other fields changing to "?????????"

2. when I activating the plugin my root pages (in the blog and in the forum (bbpress)) moves in subsection of (????? ??????????)

3. when I changing the names of fields in the settings section, old pages are not automatically deleted

In the setting of WP and MySQL is UTF-8. Tried to do everything by the instructions outlined in forum.

Can somebody help? Its a great plugin and I really want to put it on my site.

Try contacting the user ash88 on this forum, he seems to have solved these issues for Cyrillic characters.

UTF-8 supports any unicode character, which pragmatically means any natural language (Coptic, Sinhala, Phonecian, Cherokee etc), as well as many non-spoken languages (Music notation, mathematical symbols, APL). The few exceptions which are not supported well (like Klingon) usually have a roman-alphabet equivalent and/or have an unofficial private unicode code page. If you’re concerned about a particular language, you’re better off asking about that exact and particular one.

see http://www.unicode.org/charts/index.html which shows all the major code blocks (character sets) supported by unicode. Typically a character set corresponds to a language family, but the correspondence is not exactly one-to-one.
