I have researched this to death but can't find why this is showing on the place ad. I don't even know what is supposed to be "loading".

I was about to launch my Classifieds today; but need to solve this issue first.

Appreciate any help. classifieds_01.PNGImage Enlarger

Funny enough I checked checked the AWCP demo and it shows "loading..." in the exact same place.

Hi Gary Jones and Martin,

Thank you both for posting here and bringing this to our attention. This is not happening on my personal test site (using theme Twenty Sixteen) so I assume this is a conflict of some sort. I have gotten this information over to the developer today, and I will update this post with the solution once I hear back.

Thanks for your patience while we get to the bottom of this!

Hi Gary Jones and Martin,

Can each of you tell me a bit more?
- What version of WP are you running here?
- What exact version of AWPCP?  (number, please)
- What exact version of any other AWPCP Modules? (number, please)

We should also do a check for theme and plugin conflicts. Please conduct the test and let me know the results. Here is an article about how to test for theme and plugin conflicts with AWPCP, which may help pinpoint the issue: http://awpcp.com/forum/faq/how.....conflicts/

That will help us troubleshoot the issue a little faster. Please let me know.

WordPress - 4.9.5

AWPCP - 3.8.3

No other AWPCP plugins.

I have 71 plugins, 44 active, so disabling plugins would take forever. I am assuming that it is an issue with your plugin because it shows "loading" on your own demo, which has nothing to do with a user's plugins.

I was to announce the much publicized classifieds last week so would very much appreciate a solution soon.

Thanks.

Hi Gary Jones,

We were able to determine that this is an issue with reCAPTCHA integration and we have a solution in place. I am waiting to hear back on a timeline for releasing a new version of the plugin. I should know something soon. Thanks for your patience.

Hi everyone,

Dave released version 3.8.4 just now that will address this issue on your site. If you don't see a change right away, please clear your cache and see if that is the issue.

Please try that and let me know if you run into more issues. Thanks so much for bringing this to our attention!

Hi Martin,

Thanks for letting us know!

Hi Gary Jones,

In response to your question:

Just curious. What exactly is supposed to be “loading”?

The developer said this:

Nothing is really loading. The UI couldn't be initiated correctly due to a JavaScript error on a script that runs earlier on the page. The loading message is meant to be shown when the Region Selector is loading region options to display. When the error occurs, that message and other auxiliary elements remain visible without being needed.

Everything seems fine now. Couple of small points. For some reason the price takes the postal code, so my office chair was $45,906! When I saw that in the preview I went back to edit the price; but the whole listing was gone. Had to start over. Also, although the photo can be enlarged, when you first add it there's no way to crop it so it looks better. A question on the price is if it will accept FREE?

Thanks for the great work. I can finally launch now.

Hi Gary Jones,

Wow, that's an expensive office chair! For free listings, the field will accept the number 0 -- it cannot accept text in that field, unfortunately.

The things you describe here should definitely not be happening -- numbers showing up in the wrong field and listings disappearing. You might want to consider a conflict test to see if there is an issue with your theme or another plugin, just to be on the safe side. It sounds like (I hope) that perhaps it was a human error, but I wouldn't rule out an interaction causing an issue here. Here is an article about how to test for theme and plugin conflicts with AWPCP, which may help pinpoint the issue: http://awpcp.com/forum/faq/how.....conflicts/

For the image issue, this is a limitation that we are working on improving in the future.

The fix for the "loading" issue worked great and I had also questioned the recaptcha error in another plugin. I was told to change it to invisible; but couldn't find anywhere to do that. Surprisingly after I updated this plugin I no longer had the error; however, I also lost the setting to require people to register or login before posting an ad. Right now it's completely open to anyone and that's probably not good. What do I need to do to require people to register or login before posting an ad?

Appreciate your help.

Hi Gary Jones,

Sorry that you ran into issues with this!

When you say that you 'lost the setting to require people to register or login before posting an ad" do you mean that the setting is no longer available in our plugin? And that this happened after you updated a different plugin? Or ours? If you could please clarify what happened here, that would be most helpful.

Either way, a conflict test is probably in order here. Here is an article about how to test for theme and plugin conflicts with AWPCP, which may help pinpoint the issue: http://awpcp.com/forum/faq/how.....conflicts/

Please try that and report back on what you find.

I'm sure missing something basic here. I just want people who post an ad to register first so I have their name and their email address. I clicked what I thought would do that with the plugin but first I got a WordPress login, then if I didn't login and clicked on register I was sent to your site to register. Not what I need.

I am also not being notified when someone responds to my post.

As always appreciate your help.

Hi Gary Jones,

Thanks for your patience here while we have been discussing this issue. This is not an issue we've run into frequently, so I'm afraid that I will have to ask for that conflict test after all. I assume that you have now updated to version 3.8.4 of the plugin, so the only other thing we need to cross off the troubleshooting list is a theme or plugin conflict.

I know it can be a hassle to do this, but the results of a conflict test are essential for troubleshooting.

We recommend choosing a time of day (or night) when your site historically has low traffic. You can also put your site in maintenance mode and try it during the day if you want to get this resolved more quickly. I checked with our developer, and the plugin he recommends is Coming Soon Page & Maintenance Mode by SeedProd located here:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/coming-soon/

Here is an article about how to test for theme and plugin conflicts with AWPCP, which may help pinpoint the issue: http://awpcp.com/forum/faq/how.....conflicts/

Please try that and report back on what you find.

I truly appreciate the help I am getting and I'm embarrassed to admit I'm not following anything suggested. I installed the Coming Soon plugin; but that did me no good because I need to not be logged in to select Classifieds from the main menu, so if I load the homepage then logout it shows me the maintenance page. Doesn't seem to be any way to get around this.

Maybe I'm just not understanding the registration procedure. If I'm not logged in and go to the site then select Classifieds the first thing I get is the WP login. I haven't registered yet so I click on "register" and it sends me to your site to register. I thought it would send me to register as a new user in WordPress on my site. ??

Hi Gary Jones,

I'm not sure about the Coming Soon plugin, but we do need the results of the conflict test. It sounds like you do understand the registration process correctly -- the fact that it's sending you to our WP login page and not yours is very strange indeed. That's why we asked for the conflict test. We will need the results of that before continuing here.

Please try that and report back on what you find.
