Can I customize AWPCP and layout the ads so that the text is below the photo, so that on a wide screen, like desktop or tablet, there are rows and columns of ads, more like a classifieds section in a print magazine that has the photo above, text below? And it would be responsive, so that as the screen narrows, they would stack in fewer columns?

Hi southwinds,

Yes, you are free to customize AWPCP. Take note that customizations to the plugin are something that you do on your own and without further support from the AWPCP team.

Here is an article that should guide you with this http://awpcp.com/documentation…..ion-guide/

I know I can always customize it, but I guess I was hoping there was a way to do it that I didn’t see, or even a module to customize the layout, which I would gladly pay for. I’ll check the customization link. thanks

Hi southwinds.

If you could provide us some screenshots of what you are trying to achieve, we might be able to suggest something else.

I tried to upload a jpg and it says the size is too big, which is ridiculous, as it’s only 189kb. I deal with images all day long in my business and know them well. It just won’t allow an image. This has happened before trying to upload with AWPCP and I never got an answer. I choose the file, click start upload and it says it’s too big. I tried it 3 times. Same thing.

Hi southwinds,

There are 2 settings that controls this – image file size and image height/width. You need to set both under Classifieds > Settings > Images/Attachments tab > Image File Size.

I don’t think you realize what this string is about. Read from the beginning. It was about uploading a screenshot for customization

I see what happened in the confusion on the reply about images. I was uploading an image of a screenshot on the forum and it said it was too big in my reply at 12:29pm on april 10 (2 replies ago). I was replying to the previous email from a moderator that was almost 3 months old who was requesting a screenshot. And the reply to that from another moderator thought I was talking about the plugin uploading images for ad.

I still need to know if anyone can help me on getting a change in layout. I didn’t realize how tiny you needed the uploads to the forum, so I reduced it way down and attached it, but you can really see it here: https://classifiedengine.enginethemes.com/  Their layout of the ads is what I want  – with photo and ad info beneath each photo, and it’s responsive as it narrows down to fewer columns. Plus it has an easy ability to change from the column and row view (as in my screen shot) to the other view which AWPCP has which is ad photo info on the right – all you have to do is click on the images that I circled on the screenshot. Unfortunately every single plugin and theme that I have seen all have the same thing: photo on left  and ad info on right in one single column, every single one out there – why I don’t know, but it’s annoying to have to page down forever to see ads.  Only classified engine has this layout, but I prefer a plugin and not a theme.

Hi southwinds,

You could try using custom CSS to make something like this with AWPCP. Here is an article that should guide you with this https://awpcp.com/forum/faq/how-to-use-custom-styles-with-awpcp/
