AWPCP recommends (only) using Yoast SEO for WordPress as they provide the only plugin with an API that AWPCP can integrate with.  AWPCP's integration with Yoast WordPress SEO plugin offers the following features:

  • Generate window title using Listing's information while viewing a listing in the Single Ad page.
  • Generate window title using Category's name while viewing the Browse Listings or Browse Category pages
  • Facebook: include listing information in OpenGraph meta tags.
  • Use Listing's URL, instead of the Show Ad page URL, as the canonical URL.

There are no special settings to configure. When both AWPCP and Yoast WordPress SEO are installed and activated, the classifieds plugin will detect the pressence of the other and configure everything automatically to pass the listing's or category's information when necessary.

Window Title in Show Ad page

If Yoast WordPres SEO is installed and activated, AWPCP will append (or preppend, depending on the title separator location) the title of the listing to the title that WordPress SEO already generated. If you are viewing, for example, a listing "Log Cabin" posted in Miscellaneuos category the window title could be:

Log Cabin - Miscellaneus - Show Ad - My Blog

The

Show Ad - My Blog

part is generated by WordPress SEO and can be configured from admin dashboard, going to the edit screen for the Show Ad page. Since the Show Ad page is a regular WordPress page, you can use WordPress SEO features available for pages and posts. Take into account, however, that AWPCP will verwrite the title, canonical URL and OpenGraph meta tag's values.

The

Log Cabin - Miscellaneous

part is generated by AWPCP and can be configured in several ways:

  1. Editing the title of the listing in Dashboard > Classifieds > Listings.
  2. Editing the name of the category in Dashboard > Classifieds > Categories.
  3. Modifying the information that should be included in the listing's title going to Dashboard > Classifieds > Settings > Ad/Listing in the Window Title section.

Openg Graph meta tags

In the Show Ad page, when showing a listing, AWPCP will use the listing's information stored in the database to overwrite the value of the following OpenGraph meta tags:

  1. type (will be set to article)
  2. title
  3. description
  4. url
  5. published_time
  6. modified_time
  7. image
